Retribution, Part I

SITREP

On June 4th 2045, the United States executed thirteen students of MIT, including Swedish crown princess Estelle, after a series of student protests and later riots over President Keynes' dissolution of Congress. This act caused intense internal and external political turmoil, culminating from the secession of 23 of the 50 states and initiating the 2nd American Civil War.

NATO, witnessing this all unfold internationally, and powered by an enraged Sweden, spent a lot of time debating what was taking place, and notably who they believed was the rightful representative of the US now that they had fragmented into the new Federal Republic and the existing United States. Ultimately, it was decided that a despotic United States under President Keynes could not be a legitimate representative of the people and the Government if they had dissolved the Government, and so ultimately the Federal Republic of America was identified as the legitimate successor. Shortly after, Sweden and the FRA both joined to invoke article V of the NATO treaty, and sent two divisions of NATO troops to support the secessionist states in removing Keynes from office and de-escalating extremist propaganda and tensions in the US.

OBJECTIVE

The overall standing objective of Op. Retribution is the capture of President James Keynes, the de-armament and then re-integration of the dictatorial United States of America with the democratic Federal Republic of America, and the de-escalation of internal tensions by means of humanitarian and counter-insurgency action.

This mission will focus on landfall of the 1st Division of NATO troops in southern Michigan, where the primary objective is to halt the USA's advance into the state. The USA has a large mechanized force as well as air superiority.

Alpha company will be tasked with the seizure of the nearby M-104 PATRIOT installation, and the defense of the position until supporting elements from Echo Company can take over the position, allowing them to operate the PATRIOT system and provide air defense.

From there, Charlie Company will proceed to attack a nearby ammunition and materiel staging depot, which will allow us to use any captured weapons or vehicles we find in future missions.

Finally, Charlie will need to secure a large part of MSR Green against enemy counterattack.
