Well done gentlemen, we’ve managed to achieve a long-term base of operations for our air assets and neutered the largest remaining Syndikat presence on Tanoa. With their kingpin, Serge Aveline, gone they’ll have more pressing concerns—such as an internal power struggle—to consider than our little field trip. Now, we’re not quite done with groundwork yet, as we have to ensure that the good government of the Horizon Islands won’t interfere in our peaceful efforts. Oh, and we got a call from the DEA, asking for a little favour.
Now that we’ve managed to establish an FOB for a discreet stay on the archipelago, it is time for us to ensure it remains clandestine. This too will be a multipart operation. First off, we have to make sure our operation is—and will remain—safe. This means infiltrating the island to the north, seizing the Tanoa Telecommunications Ltd. (TTC ltd.) cell tower and installing a listening post there. You’ll handle the seizing and securing, Agents Fibber, Veil and Shroud will handle the listening. N.B. The gas station in the town of Balavu—just down the hill from TTC’s tower mind you—has been reappropriated by the boys in blue of the Gendarmerie to act as a garrison and R&R site for the bridge checkpoint. Secondly, we’ve gotten a call from the DEA. It seems that an American citizen by the name of Truman Park has been profiting quite handily from smuggling Syndikat narcotics to the East-Coast. His operation wasn’t as secure as he thought though, and the pencil pushers in the IRS went through a lot of trouble to track his accounts to Tanoa. The DEA has requested our aid, not that we’re even officially here, to apprehend Mr. Park. You are to nab him from the village of Tavu, where he has been last spotted holding residence. Our intel also suggests that he has engaged the ION PMC for personal protection, and our overtures have been met with silence. You can expect them to be hostile. Thirdly, we have to make sure the Syndikat are well and truly gone from our hair. We’ve identified a small weapons cache they’re guarding on Sosovu Island, and our intel suggests they have more advanced gear than a violent drug cartel should. Seize their gear and silence the gang for good, we might make use of their gear later. On to our primary objective for long term operations: we have to neutralize the Horizon Islands Defence Forces (HIDF) radar sites on the North-Western island of Tuvanaka. They have too radar sites on two different hills, we take out both of them, they won’t be able to track any of our aircraft lest they see them with their own eyeballs. Preferably you’ll handle this covertly without raising suspicion, but if you want to go loud, we can source you some Syndikat gear, or you can use the gear seized from Sosovu.

Horizon Islands Defence Forces – 3rd Air Assault Brigade
The HIDF will have relatively light assets if un-alerted. They will mostly be limited to foot patrols, light motorvehicles, patrol boats, armoured cars and if we’re unlucky, a night helicopter practise patrol. If the garrison is alerted however, the HIDF will throw everything they’ve got against you. In the alerted case, you can expect all aforementioned assets, APCs, attack helicopters and even a number of battle tanks maintained at the airbase.
Horizon Islands Gendarmerie
The HIG is responsible for civil security on the island, and is known to utilize patrol boats, lightly armed foot patrols and standard patrol cars. Our intel does not suggest the HIG having anything heavier on standby on the islands, aside from a small GIGN (elite tactical unit) presence on the Telecommunications tower island to counter Syndikat incursions.
