BRIEFING

Last night, the separatist militia in the North West corner of the country broke through the demarcation line and captured one of the checkpoints and the soldiers working it. As a result, High Command has decided to finally deal with the militia problem once and for all. The primary tasking of this assault will be to clear the towns of militia forces and destroy any caches or supplies located. While the main concentration of forces is within the AO, there is the possibility of guerrilla forces attempting to reinforce the militia. As such, maintain a rearguard will be integral to the success of this operation, as well as ensuring the safe evacuation of civilians out of the area.

Due to the importance of success of this mission, High Command has provided an Mi-24 helicopter and an M1 IFV for fire support.

Objectives:

  1. Clear the checkpoint and the nearby military base. Rescue any surviving prisoners
  2. Clear the major towns and military bases in the AO
  3. Bravo 2-1 as rearguard, prevent any flanking assaults on the main force and allow civilians escape combat

Notes:

  • The rearguard squad will be a primarily RP squad. There will be combat and excursions, but the point of the squad is to run a checkpoint and interact with one of the zeuses in a roleplay manner. Only choose if you are okay with not shooting your gun for an extended period of time.

Composition of enemy forces:

  • Primarily light infantry, expect scattered contact outside of towns from guerrilla attacks utilizing decommissioned Cold War fortifications in the area
  • Some armor, especially concentrated in urban areas
  • Many technicals
  • A few helicopters. Most of the militia air power has been shot down by the area's no fly zone, but we believe they have some stashed away for emergencies. These are likely unarmed and will be used for rapid troop transport
