BRIEFING

Operation Clean Slate - Phase 2

SITREP

Background:

Malden, Greece, has remained under increasing political and military tension in recent years. The island is administered by the Greek Armed Forces and has become an important military and logistical hub in the region.

Following a series of intelligence reports and unexplained activity surrounding several military installations, American and British intelligence have developed concerns that the GAF may be involved in the storage, production, or transportation of prohibited weapons of mass destruction.

British forces have maintained an extended peacekeeping presence on Moray Island under the stated purpose of "maintaining regional stability and supporting the local authorities." Recent intelligence developments, however, have prompted London to reconsider the situation.

The northern portion of the island contains a major airport, a couple military installations, and sufficient defence infrastructure to support further military operations inland. The area is geographically isolated from the rest of the island by a substantial mountain range.

British forces have now been authorised and ordered to secure the sector under the pretext of Greece possesing illegal WMDs, with BAF's objective being seizing them.

The political consequences of failure are significant. Another major intelligence failure involving weapons of mass destruction is something the American and British governments are keen to avoid.

Mission:

For Phase 2 of Operation Clean Slate, the British peacekeeping contingent must invade the northern part of the Malden island and capture it fully in 2 hours without taking excessive casualties.
